Search for a series of brief articles under the banner 'The UK in 2017' in wich the authors imagine the effects of UK government cuts. Patrick Butler's satyrical piece on social inequalities is particularly brilliant on its comparison to Dickens' writings. Gloomy prospect.

Patrick Butler's writing is great. He compares the current London to the London in Dicken's days. The reader can have a vision of the society: great differences and inequalities between social classes, progressive separation between the rich and the poor, the role of the banks and the government. We can think about a cyclical structure where things have not changed.
